FAQs

How far in advance should I book for wedding invitations?

We recommend at LEAST 7 months before your wedding date, preferably to a year if you’re thinking about Save the Dates. The custom design process starts between 6-7 months before your wedding, so the sooner you book, the better your chances of your date being available!

How much should I expect to spend on wedding invitations?

This all depends on your budget, but you should expect to spend at least $1,000+ on your wedding stationery. There isn’t just paper involved, as much as you may think it is just paper. Your suite can range from 2-7 pieces (maybe more!), add on 2-3 envelopes, liners, addressing, response and mailing postage, assembly items, and extras for keepsakes, photos, and because your dad decided he needs you to send 5 more invitations after you’ve already sent them all out.

Our average couple spends around $8,000 on custom wedding stationery, with investment starting at $3,500 for custom invitations and $5,000 for custom invitations and wedding day stationery. Our semi-custom line offers more affordable options, with the most basic 3-card suite starting around $1,250 for 100 suites and an average investment of $3,100 for semi-custom invitations and wedding day stationery.

What printing methods do you offer for your invitations?

We offer standard digital (or flat) printing on all our invitation suites. Upgrades are available for foil stamping (a hot die plate stamps metallic film into the paper) and letterpress printing (a plate is coated with ink and then pressed into the paper, leaving behind an impression). Both are beautiful finishes to your invitations and are offered on both the semi-custom line and custom stationery.

Do you only serve Northeast Pennsylvania weddings?

Nope! We have clients all over the country and can ship anywhere, that includes worldwide! Our invitations have been sent for Philadelphia weddings, NYC weddings, New Jersey weddings, as well as California, Hilton Head, Kiawah Island, and abroad!

What is the basic timeline for wedding invitations?

Custom wedding invitations take around 2-3 months to design and complete, sometimes longer depending on the scale of the project. We typically start the design process 6-7 months before the wedding date, starting with the custom proposal and initial design ideas, through revisions and final proof approval. Once approved, we send it off to the printer and order all materials for assembly. This takes around 4-6 weeks of production (again, depending on the scale of the invitation suite and finishing processes). Semi-Custom Invitations take around 4-6 weeks from start to finish, for those with a shorter time frame.

When should wedding invitations be mailed?

Wedding invitations should be sent out 8-12 weeks prior to the event, 4-6 months for destination weddings. For Save the Dates, we recommend sending those out 6-8 months in advance, 9-12+ for destination weddings.

Are envelopes included with my invitations?

Envelopes are included in each package quote, whether you are interested in custom design or ordering a semi-custom suite. We include return address printing and variable guest address printing in quotes unless you are interested in calligraphy services (which we also offer!).

What is recommended for the RSVP Wedding timeline?

We recommend the Response Date for your guests to be no later than 1 MONTH before your wedding date. This allows sufficient time for gathering your guests’ information and setting up the seating chart (which is a task in itself). This also gives your stationer/calligrapher (Hi!👋) enough time to get your day-of pieces put together and printed. We do not accept any Day-Of Stationery orders or inquiries within the 3 week mark of the event date.

Do you assemble the invitations?

We fully assemble and mail for every custom invitation client, so you don’t need to worry about figuring out how to tie that ribbon or how to use that wax seal stamp. For semi-custom orders, we offer assembly services for an additional fee. Semi-custom clients that choose to do assembly on their own receive an assembled suite to follow, along with an assembly video. Please inquire if you are interested in assembly services for your semi-custom invitation.

Do you offer samples of your previous work?

Sample kits are available to purchase prior to booking, which include all three print methods offered as well as wedding day stationery samples, ribbon swatches, wax seals, and additional paper samples to browse through. It is deducted from your invoice if you decide to move forward with booking.

Each client gets a Welcome Sample Kit following booking as well, filled with paper and print inspiration for your stationery.
